I was happy to see the story about the change in the size of schools in the last 10 years (SWVA vs Rest of the state) and how it has affected our athletics which was an atrical in the paper about a week and a half after it was a huge topic on here. (That is the best example but there have been others as well)


IMHO The form as a primer for the media is not a bad thing

Now the situation that started this mess is a horse of a differant color in that while the info might have been usful to start looking for that story IMHO it was VERY irresponsable to give up the source of the info to someone who could cause problems for that source.

Crap what I am TRYING to say is IF someone starts a thread stateing that the LPD was a much better district when most teams ran the WishBone and that in order to get back to winning state championships we need to get back to that kind of game While other people think that Burton has the right Idea running the Doubble wing and that the speed of the game today would hurt a Bone team others will counter that the "I" or the spread is clearly the way to go-------And the Paper comes out with a story a week later on the evealution of the LPD Offence then that is Great IMHO

Another example if someone gets on here and tells us that PV is going away from the spread this season and Travis is training the PV backs in useing the "T" ------ The Paper should NOT run the story based on that alone but you are wrong if you think a reporter is not going to ask Phil about it and there is nothing wrong with that.......HOWEVER if Phil gets ticked off that the word is out and asks the reporter where he got the Info the Reporter should NOT be giving up the name of the guy that supplyed the information

I see what you are saying Counts....No I don't have a problem with them comming on here and seeing what topics are hot or whatever...

But as far as using what one of us said to make a story, Thats BS...And they any of them reading right now are welcome to use that for a story [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img]

Speaking of PV getting away from the spread. Could this be the year? Lets make some wagers:

I got $50 bucks that says they abandon the spread and go back to a conventional style running game this year. Not saying they won't line up in it a couple of times but not for the majority of the game.

You could be right PV lined up in the T a few times last season but Mitchal did not look comfertable under center.

PV returns 3 VERY talanted backs but will need to find someone to take over at QB which would be easier if they are not ask to put the ball in the air 30 times a game.

The Issue with PV going to the "T" would be there Line which has not been able to run block for the last 2 or 3 years if that does not change putting them in an Offence that invites D's to put 9 or 10 in the box MAY not be the best idea

I see the I- formation and some modification of the T coming this fall. I think it will benefit the Pinkstons better than the spread. They have power and they also have the quickness to pull the T formation off. Like was said earlier, the only question on this is the line. They have been pretty "pourous" at times in the past.

You may be right but the I would require them to follow the FB and read his block which is something they have not done out of the spread which is why I look for them to run the "T" since it is easyer to run veer play out of it.......that COULD be another option Run the veer if they convert one of there running backs to QB it COULD help to overcome an under talented Line......

PV will have a lot of roster changes, dont be surprised to not recognize but one in the backfield

Well I would be shocked if the Big Pinkston is not in the backfield. the Smaller Pinkston could be a receverbut there other RB (can't remember his name) looked to be solid as well if they were going to the "I" it would not have suprised me to see him at TB and Big Pinkston at FB

I have NO CLUE what the plan at QB will be? I have been told that they have a kid comming up that throws alot better ball than Mitchal did and makes better reads to boot however I am not sure that PV will not end up with another running QB even if they get out of the spread
